Home insurance - what to do? I'm a newbie

I am a new homeowner and need to buy home insurance for my property. I am at loss in getting this right. I am not particularly looking for a cheap price but mostly for a good service. I've been reading all the possible reviews about the various companies but they all seem to end up with the fact that when it comes to make a claim nobody wants to listen.
All I am asking is to pay the right amount of money to somebody without worrying that the moment I will need them they will be there for me.
Any suggestion to get this right? Which criteria should I follow in your opinion and based on your experience? Also, has anyone any information about Policyexpert(.co.uk). I can't figure out who is behind them. Their customers seem very happy but nobody has reviewed about problems with claims (they seem quite new).
Many thanks for your help!

Policy Expert are pretty new, the amount and quality of their reviews do look suspicious so may have been manipulated.0
