BTE Insurance

Hi,
I took out a car insurance policy two years ago through a broker.
I was just reviewing old paperwork before shredding it and I noticed something strange.
It said on the paper work BTE Insurance (Optional) £xx
However, at the time I remember asking the broker was necessary, and he said that although it said optional, it was a necessity.
With all this talk of PPI, would I be able to claim back this money? Its not a great deal, but being as I am unemployed and having some money troubles every penny would help.
Thanks, WS

You would have to take up a complaint in writing with the broker and say that it was missold to you. Tell them that if they don't refund you for the BTE optional cover, you will continue the complaint with the FOS. See what they say.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

Thanks huckster. The amount is only for £70 so can you claim for postage costs?0
