Hi all
Well we have had our surveys come back satisfactory although I am yet to actually see it. Is this normal?
We also got our official mortgage offer yesterday!! :j
There is no chain either side so I am hoping everything else runs quickly and smoothly now.

we were the same..seven months later we moved....you just do not know for certain what the timescale is going to be..be open minded..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
When you say survey has come back satisfactory, do you mean valuation? Only not all lenders send copies to buyers.
If it's your own homebuyers or buildings survey, then yes you should get to see for yourself if everything is satisfactory as far as you are concerned, as you are the one who pays the surveyor to carry out the chosen survey.
I'm fed up waiting for my own homebuyers report to come back. Hoped it would be here today but no. Chased surveyors office who don't seem a bit concerned and tell me it's waiting to be typed up, so definitely no chance of getting it till week now. If I'd known they were going to be so slow I'd have gone elsewhere. My buyer had her homebuyers survey done on a Tuesday & she received the report on the Saturday. I was very impressed. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Our timescales were as follows:
Homebuyers - carried out on Thursday, received electronic copy on Friday, received paper copy on Saturday
Mortgage valuation - carried out on Thursday, 'on system' and confirmed on Tuesday (advisor told us what level it had come in at)... official mortgage offer arrived today, along with a copy of the valuation. You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
Yes i meant valuation not survey my apologies. Its been a long day.0

Hopefully it'll all go smoothly for you.
We had our valuation by the mortgage company carried out on the Thursday and the mortgage offer came through on the Saturday (we didn't see the valuation and didn't expect to). We also had a homebuyer survey carried out and the report took about five working days to come back.
We are due to complete today, all being well, and it's taken about five weeks (definitely no more than six, but I can't remember exactly) from offer being accepted to completion, with no chain either end.0 -
We sold at the end of January.
Everything went well and it was to a cash buyer.
We hope to exchange early next week.
