More than one MBNA Card

I currently have an Virgin card with 4.5K on it and an Egg card with £500. Both have £5K limits. I would like abother MBNA card with 0% because I want to make use of their £5 min repayment. Do they let you have 2 cards or should I whack the balance onto the Egg, close the virgin then find a new one?

Which MBNA cards are best at the moment for a balance transfer?

Cheers

You can have as many MBNA cards as the credit they are willing to grant you allows.
Phone the applications number and ask for best card for BT, there are quite a few 13 month 0% BT cards around at moment

Yeah figured that but thought it probably safer to get rid of one first to reduce the risk of a turned down application. I have got a good credit history and am a homeowner so might just go for it.

Anyone here got 2 x MBNA?

My TIP NUMBER 1 Don't get rid of MBNA run cards
My TIP NUMBER 2 If you have got a VISA card with MBNA apply for a MASTERCARD as well and vice versa.

I used to have five MBNA cards but I closed them all about two years ago.

    Got two mbna cards currently.
They did however move half of my credit limit from one card to the other, thus keeping my total amount with them the same. This may be a problem for you as your virgin only has £500 available...

I've got 2. A cheshire buidling society mbna mastercard and a very new virgin mbna mastercard.
When I rang to apply the helpful woman said you are allowed up to 5 mbna cards.
However, limits are an issue. Irrespective of the number of cards, there is a max credit limit they are willing to give, depending on your individual circumstances.
My cheshire card is almost maxed to the 5K limit at 0%, so my new virgin card only came with a 3K limit.

I had not thought about swapping credit limits, like Afahmaep suggests - great idea and I will be doing it when the first 0% ends on one of the cards.

Okay, so if you keep at least one open you can apply for other MBNA run cards BUT if you close them all and have none, you have to wait a year before you can apply for another MBNA run card, is that right?

Just that I had a Virgin card until April last year and was turned down with the above reason when I applied for the Conran card in August or so last year. Was told I had to wait until at least May before I could apply for it.
