Thailand is the one place I still take travellers cheques to. You get a decent rate and have the security t/cs offer.
You can get £ t/c's commission free from Lloyds TSB even if you don't bank there.0 -

I meant for the average tourist. Many won't want to make a special journey.
I always make a point of knowing where they are before I arrive.
Unfortunately, none at Suvarnabhumi(sù.wān.nā. pʰūːm).
So I usually have cash to tide me over until I can get to a machine.0
