Closing Capital One

in Credit cards
I have a Capital One Classic card with a £500 balance. I'm going to it off in full tomorrow and clear the interest on my next statement. I then plan on closing it since I am getting rid of my high interest cards. I was thinking I may be able to close this and in turn get a limit increase on my Capital One Progress.
Are they likely to consider this? Or would they just close the account?

Capital one dont really do anything for peopleDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Capital one dont really do anything for people
LOL, that's the impression I got; I'm actually quite glad they declined me when I applied for one ages ago.
So many people who have a progress card with a permanent, never budging limit of £200. What flipping use is that!?Oh, you wee bazza!0 -

Granted, Capital One aren't the most pro-active when it comes to raising limits. However, the Progress is aimed at people who are looking to reduce their APR.
On a side note, I've noticed they now offer the Capital One Classic Extra card, aimed at people with average/good credit history and offering 0.5% cashback. Looks interesting for anybody who wants to earn rewards but doesn't have a "perfect" history.Capital One Classic Extra £2,450 [06-2012]

Lloyds Bank Platinum £750 [11-2015]
