Does anyone know a ball park figure for skimming fours walls, one with two windows. The room is approximately 10 foot by 14ft.
Any help appreciated as a guy is coming round to give a quote now and i need an idea as this is the first time i have had any work done!
Thanks

It depends where in the UK you live - the cost in London/South East will probably be a lot more than elsewhere.
I looked into having a 12ft x 12ft room done last year and was quoted £300+ (am in S/East).
The local college offers a course in plastering over four weekends for £180. I figured my money would be better spent learning how to do it, then I'll never have to pay someone else again!
Likewise I have friends who have done basic plumbing and bricklaying courses and saved a fortune. As long as it's not tinkering with gas or electrics (which need specialists) it's a hobby and a moneysaver! For everything else, there's MSE :T0 -
Thanks Janey_uk
I would love to take the time and learn but we need the room to be sorted in two weeks so are a little pushed, i live in the south west and am hoping it is a little cheaper, although i realise that it can take a lot of time so may cost a bit more than i would really want to pay.Leopardlady
