Web Browsers to be 'taxed'!

Actually, that's not a bad idea. Charging users of IE a fee because it costs more money to develop web code and applications for a browser that does not follow RFC's & standards.
I don't think it's fair to target just IE7. I'd extend that to all versions of IE :-)0 -
The fix is just shop elsewhere.0

I love this:'It appears you or your system administrator has been in a coma for over 5 years and you are still using IE7. To help make the Internet a better place, you will be charged a 6.8% tax on your purchase from Kogan.com. This is necessary due to the amount of time required to make web pages appear correctly in IE7.'0

Makes sense. I once had a job designing/developing an application for use in a medical university department. Many doctors are IT-backwards and had very old browsers (worse still IE on the mac...). We had to produce a cutting edge analysis system that would work on very old browsers. Very tough (but we did it)
I'd prefer to see sites refuse access to older browsers than tax them.0 -
Good, coding a website for ie6/7 is a pain.
In reality it's just a PR/Linkbait activity.0 -
Easy enough to stop them getting browser and referrer information............**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. If any Parking Pirates have a problem with my post then contact me for my solicitors address.*****0
