leaving jsa - contact employers?

hello all,

on job seekers but, basically ive been offered some work less than 16 hrs but good money so i wont actually be receiving any job seekers.

i know that while you are on job seekers they contact your employers to confirm youre hours etc, but i dont really want my new employers to know. does anyone know if u leave job seekers do they contact your new employer if your no longer claiming? and also this job is fixed short term, does anyone know if i can re apply after? and if i have to give in all the paperwork again??

  • They don't contact your employer if you're coming off JSA. So don't worry about that. They have no need to if you're not claiming the benefit.

When you say 'short term', how long is it for? That depends on whether you'll have to do the paperwork. You can do a 'rapid reclaim' if you sign off for a short time I think, but it depends on how long you're working for.
  • when I signed of JSA, my employer received a form asking when I was starting work. No idea if it mandatory though
  • im potentially working for up to 8 weeks? do you have to give in your employers details when leaving? i know it sounds odd but it just feels like a private thing to me that id rather my bosses didnt know about

I didn't put on my form that I was working, I just signed the form to say I didn't want JSA and posted it back.
