Olympics Train Tickets

Hi - first time poster.
I've bought two return train tickets from Doncaster to London for the Olympics via w w w. nationalrailgamestravel. co. uk
However, due to family circumstances we cannot go. To my surprise after calling them tickets are non-refundable, and I cannot sell the tickets. I asked the lady "what am I supposed to do then to get some money back?". Here answer basically said "you are screwed".
What am I supposed to do to get some of my money back? Has anyone got any ideas? These tickets need to be used with valid games tickets - so I am not sure if even selling them is possible.
Very frustrated. What a rip off these Olympics are turning out to be.

Tickets such as yours bought on the National Rail Games Travel website are clearly flagged up as being non-refundable.0

What have you done with your Olympic tickets? If you still have these and don't intend on going anymore, I would place them both in your local free ads/shop window/gumtree as an Olympic package with free train travel from Doncaster.
You could do the same on ebay but not sure on their rules on Olympic tickets, but don't give to much details on the train tickets or the auction will get pulledWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

Excellent suggestion but better otherwise around.
You sell the train tickets and the Olympic tickets are a free gift to go with them. That way no one can complain that you are selling Olympic tickets.
The OP could also approach sports clubs locally connected with the event the tickets are for and post an ad in their premises.0 -
almost all train tickets are non transferable and can't be sold either, although it'd be unlikely it would be checked to be fair!Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0 -

Thank you, however, depends on where you're planning to sell the tickets, my last post was on my mobile so didn't have the full power of the internet, but according to BBC, Ebay will remove all auctions for Olympic tickets. You sell the train tickets and the Olympic tickets are a free gift to go with them. That way no one can complain that you are selling Olympic tickets.
Again depends on where, Ebay are also very strict on the reselling of valid train tickets. The OP could also approach sports clubs locally connected with the event the tickets are for and post an ad in their premises.
Great idea.almost all train tickets are non transferable and can't be sold either, although it'd be unlikely it would be checked to be fair!
My bold, trust me there's members of a certain railway forum that get their kicks out of checking Ebay for such tickets then reporting them.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

why do you feel now, because you can no longer go, that the olympics are turning out to be a rip off?
the terms and conditions that you agreed with upon purchase have not changed0
