I want to start baking cakes, biscuits and buns (and anything else that you can suggest) to go with our pack lunches.
Can anyone recommend some fairly cheap and easy recipes - particularly ones that keep or freeze well?
I'm new to OS money saving but this seems a good place to start and I used to enjoy baking when I was younger.

A fantastic recipe of my Grandma's is yogurt cake, the amazing thing about this cake is no measuring ingredients out as you use the yogurt pot
1 small yogurt (Longley Farm) are perfect
2 pots of sr flour
1 pot of sugar
2 eggs
mix all togther put in greased baking tray and cook for about 40 mins at about 200oc
It is yummy and it works with all flavours. I am training to be a teacher and kids just love this as they can do everything (with maybe a bit of help with the eggs)

The Womens Institute have faultless recipe books!
There's one on cakes and bakes, which has a good variety of ideas, many you can adapt, changing fillings and toppings and fruits etc. Very easy to follow, doesnt have long lists of ingrediants, theory section in the front, gives timings and tells you if you can freeze them and how long they keep.0
