college or uni help

I am a single mum with two kids age 14 and 18 and recieve working tax credit, my son leaves school this year and if his result are ok hopefully will go to uni but if not will go to college, on the new form its say if he goes to college I will still get paid for him but if he goes to uni i will not why is this ?

Most likely because at Uni he will get income (loans) in his own right, college courses (in the main) don't give an income.0

It will depend on the level of course he studies at college, if HNC/D etc then child benefit/tax credits stop

If he moves into HE regardless of whether it's at college or uni you will no longer receive any child benefit/credits as he will have access to student loans/grants but if he remains in FE you can continue claiming until he is 20.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
