first car - what should I go for

I am glad you agree. Daughter had one as her first car. Despite the battering it took, she never had a problem with it. Wife also had one in the distant past with no problems. They are actually roomier than they look and I didn't find driving them uncomfortable (over 6ft).Je suis sabot...0

That octavia is misleading - the advert says "it is not 999" and you have to ask for price. Not sure why anyone would want to mis-advertise like that but it's not the first i've seen on Autotrader - another being this

Autotrader should clamp down on this kind of stuff, just like putting 70 miles instead of 70,000 to get up the listing. However, they don't seem bothered as long as the money keeps rolling in.
