My Dad passed away earlier this year. He owed £6k on a credit card. I have contacted the company who tell me the full amount needs to be paid off from his estate - which is going to probate. Do I have to give them the whole amount back?

no, you don't need to give then anything but the executors of his estate need to repay the debt (assuming there is sufficient to pay them)EU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%
some dairy products 42.1% cloths 11.4%

The estate (if there are sufficient funds in the estate) will have to settle all debts before the remaining monies get distributed to the heir(s).
You (personally) will not have to pay the debt. But if you are one of the beneficiaries, you will inherit less if there are debts.0
