Child Support from Abroad

Hi
Hope I'm in the right place. Just wondering if anyone get child support from abroad and also how do they know they are getting what they are entitled to?
We have one son, age 11, and my ex, though a local lad, works/lives in the USA (with his 2nd wife, 2 stepsons and 1 biological son) and to his credit has always paid child support. There was never an amount legally agreed, just that he'd pay and this has over the years depending on the exchange rate varied.
He works for an oil company, probably paid quite well but I guess he'd never tell me what he was earning.
How would I go about ensuring I am getting a fair amount for my son.
Any advice / suggestions would be gratefully received.

Do you think it is a fair amount in relation to what your son needs? I think that would be a good start as the prices to go through might be quite tedious and result in resentment that might not be worth any fight.0

I agree with Fbaby, but if you want more information, try posting on the Child Support sub-board (on the Benefits and Tax Credits board). there is something called REMO that is about child support from abroad, but I don't know which countries are included.0

Thanks both for your replies.
I have never done anything before so not to rock the boat so to speak as I am thankful that I receive (though can't wait for the day to come when it'll be all over and I will no longer have to worry about it).
I will check the other board.
Thanks.0
