Just wondered if there was any law/legislation about the colour of a caravan on a site?
Do they all have to be whites, creams etc or can they be painted in some psycadelic colour?
A friend has painted their caravan and I cant see them being allowed on a site as it is lol.

I think if it's permanently sited in say a National Park there can be planning requirements as to colour, as well as site owner rules but for touring vans it's up to the site owner/operator. I've seen some pretty garish ones around, especially hand-painted motor caravans. If it looks particularly horrible you might get directed to an out of sight area.0

We didn't have any 'rules' regarding caravan colour at the site I used to work at (very large one in the South West).
However, if you (or your friend) turned up in a gaudily-painted 'van then you would definitely get heavily questioned - we were very wary about letting "travellers" on to the site in case we couldn't get them out again.
If you look like you might be part of a traveller convoy, expect to get questioned about how long you are staying, and paying up front etc. That's if the owner of the site actually lets you on in the first place.0 -
Well its an old thing and hand painted in BRIGHT blue with different coloured wheels and stickers all over the thing. It'd be fun for going to a festival but I wouldnt want to be near it if I was on holiday..0

Sounds like a great way of getting a good sized pitch to yourselves, only seasoned caravaners will appreciate that,
;)
There's a guy only a hundred yard down the road from me.
He build camper van type things.
But they are performance vehicles, VWs with porsche engines, transits with cosworth gear.
But the interesting bit is his paintwork, always done to look like a rust ridden shed that no one would park near, but it's mint paintwork, brilliant:T:TI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Your friend probably wouldn't be allowed on Caravan Club/C & CC or private four and five star sites. On other sites it will be up to th owner or manager.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

In the 1960's when I was a youth, we used to go camping with an Ex-WD 1945 Red Cross Tent. You could see the stich marks where it had had the red cross sewn on, and there was faded bloodstains. We used to pitch up and people would unpitch and move there tents further away.
We never had any problem parking the car next to the tent as a result.............**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. If any Parking Pirates have a problem with my post then contact me for my solicitors address.*****0 -

Paint it black it might attract a bit of the suns heat in the winter.
problem will be if you stop in it on a sunny day, You may think it was not such a good idea after all.
They do sell odd coloured caravans every now and then but not in large numbers.
Light/Pale colours are essential really. Unless you get up and go out before the sun comes up and fit a large aircon unit.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
