Asda Bangor car parking fine

Can anyone help? Got a £60 fine this morning in Asda Bangor (well, £30.00 if I pay it soon). The ticket had blown off the dashboard when the door was closed. We have the ticket and the Asda receipt proving we were there. Obviously the weasel in the carpark said there was nothing he could do as it was already in his machine. Is this charge enforceable? I know there are some parking threads on the main site but am not sure if they relate to NI.

Thanks for any help!

Think you will find its a similar set up here. The "fine" you received is just an invitation to pay and not enforceable. The police and traffic wardens give out the fines as in the mainland not private companies.

The fine isn't enforceable. Send a copy of the ticket and a receipt to the address supplied on the back of the ticket. Explain it fell from the window. Then relax. Nothing to worry about.

This is not a fine, simly ignore it and all the toilet paper that will follow.

You can see what you are going to get and count down to the end of the scam if you have a look at the forum sticky in the Parking Board, where there are also lots of threads about Asda's parking goons and even a few relating to NI.

It depends who issued the fine, if it was one of the official penalty charge notices I'd follow these directions:

    http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/index/information-and-services/travel-transport-and-roads/parking-and-parking-enforcement/challenging-a-parking-ticket-penalty-charge-notice.htm

I did it recently and they waived the charge.

If it was a private parking company I'd tell them to whistle for it

    *edit*

As the OP states the ticket had blown off the dashboard I'd assume it's a pay & display car park run by the road's service, in which case appeal it and don't worry.
  • Thanks everyone. I will have another look and see who issued it. Definitely not one of the wardens with the red hats, just the guy who wanders the car park. Feel a bit better now!

I wouldn't worry about it in that case.

Funny how he's never around when the kids parents park in the Asda car park to drop their rugrats off for school isn't it...

They are paying to use the carpark?!

Do they have parking attendants in Shore Rd Asda? Surely football fans are bound to use it during the Seaview home matches.
    Im not complaining, just curious.

There are no attendants, that Ive ever seen, in Atrim Asda but Antrim Tescos do have a man who walks round jotting times and number plates int a notebook!

The parents have a pass which lets them park for a short period.
