Insurance for two or more cars?

Hi,
I own two cars and insure them separately, I am fully comp on one and 3rd party on the other. My fully comp insurance allows me drive any other car with 3rd party, so my question is this.
Why do I need to take insurance out on both cars separately? The only answer I can come up with is just to get the tax disc! If somebody could help me on this one it would be greatly appreciated coz it could save me around £350!
Regards
Danny

Perhaps it's for the Fire & Theft of the car.
The law states, as far as I know , that all cars used on the roads or kept on the roads must have minimum 3rd Party cover.
have you tried insuring as a "classic car insurance" with limited mileage. It might work you never know.
If you have a partner what about using their name on a policy. You should at least get a discount on their insurance (if they have a licence of course).
Another possible option, which is a tricky one, is to go for a Motor Traders insurance which means you can drive any car. I don't know the complexities of this one but just a few suggestions for you to mull over.
The best thing to do would be to go and see a proper Insurance Broker they might help point you in the right direction.
Hope you get get sorted.I am not always right,
But I am never wrong !!0 -
I 'think' it's because the car isn't actually insured, you're insured to drive it on a third party basis but the car itself doesn't carry insurance.0
