Really bad "joke" :o)

We were due to go to the cinema, but paramour found an injured hedgehog just as he was setting off to meet me, so he picked me up from the cinema where I was waiting, and we went to the wildlife hospital.

Whilst he cares about wildlife (one of his jobs is as an ecology lecturer), paramour has a certain type of sense of humour, so I was regaled with jokes about hedgehog kebabs and barbeques *rollseyes* :)

Unfortunately, the hospital was closed for the evening. We took hedgehog back to my house (I live closer to the hospital and will take hedgehog there today), and then went off to the supermarket to see if we could find a bigger box for him.

There were none suitable for hedgehogs, but while we were there, I spotted a giant party mix of dips reduced to 10p, so had to get it. :D

It later occurred to me that we'd found a hedgehog, joked about the edible potential of hedgehogs and immediately the popped into the supermarket and picked up party dips.

This is our version of hedgehog for the kids.

Soften a big onion with a tiny bit of water and a stock cube.

Mix 500g Minced Pork, 1.5dl Milk, 1dl oats, 1 egg, onion mix, salt and peber.

Shape the mixture into the body, wrap bacon around it and stick coctail sasages into the body. Put it in the oven untill cooked, around 45min.

    You can now serve hedgehog.

That last sentence conjured up an image of a happy hedgehog with a leg in a cast being served with your dish. :D

Why do they call them hedgehogs when they're in the middle of the road. Shouldn't they be called road hogs.

Tip - if the hedgehog rolls into a ball and doesnt unroll all night - its a deceased hedgehog.
my kids found a hedgehog and it took us all night and into the next day before we managed to get a reply from the local (er - thats nearest) hedgehog hospital.
The first thing the guy asked was 'has it unrolled at all'? 'er, no'
cheerful reply 'Oh well, its dead then', I didnt pass this gem onto the kids - just packed them off to school and when I picked the poor hoggy up - sure enough it was cold and long gone. so I buried it up in the woods and told the kids it had gone off to hospital!
