Mobile Phone Subscriptions

I just wondered if anyone has had a problem with dodgy mobile phone subcriptions?

My husband tried to download a screensaver onto his phone about 2 weeks ago. It failed to work but didn't contact the company to complain. Since then he hasn't heard anything until yesterday, he received a text message saying that he is being charged £1.50 per day to a subscription service! He couldn't believe it and immediately sent the word "STOP" to the number provided. However, the message just keeps failing to send, he has tried everyday without success. He has telephoned the company number and it is just an answering machine telling him to text "STOP" to the same number.

I have searched on the internet for the company, and managed to find another number, again an answering machine. I have emailed them, no reply. Even faxed them, no reply. My husband has even contacted his phone provider Vodaphone who have said that there is nothing they can do, he needs to contact the company concerned. He is absolutely furious over this, :mad: especially with Vodafone who can't put a block on his phone or do anything to help. I don't know what else we can do to try and stop his subscription, and in the meantime he is being charged £1.50 a day.

Anyone else heard of this, and is there anything else that we can do? :confused:

    I had the same problem and despite several messages on an answering phone I was still getting them, try www.grumbletext.co.uk I managed to find an alternate number on there and it was sorted within minutes.

    Such a pain, luckily (if you can call it that!) I was only getting charged once every 5 days as opposed to everyday!
    2p off is still 2p off!
