Options
I am looking for a pc case and was looking at fractal cases then I came accross this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fractal-Design-Define-R3-USB-3-0-ATX-MicroATX-Mini-ITX-Tower-PC-Computer-Case-/200775220825?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopComponents_RL&hash=item2ebf22be59

it just looks to good to be true to me the postage on that case would cost around 10 quid

At about a quarter of the prices listed by the biggest online retailers and including free shipping? I would say so. It's worth a gamble at less than 20 quid, but I find it highly suspicious.

I've bought one - if it arrives, great, I'll have anohter dozen. If it doesn't, never mind, I'll ask paypal for a refund.

Definitely dodgy, last feedback was 5 years ago.....

Not even an original photo used and a total of £22 odd in sales over five years ago. I would be very surprised if you received what is stated, there are warning signs all over it.

At best you'll get it. At worst you'll get a PayPal refund. Done it loads of times no problems!

Be careful. Listing has been copied and pasted from Dabs outlet. Seller has had no feedback for over a year. Looks like a hacked account....

as others have said, be careful. least you have paypal for backup if it all goes tits up.
  • There was a scam a short time ago where a couple of listings were for 7" Android pads for about £20. I took the risk and got my money back when it was not delivered.

I thought about what was going on and realised that if a large number of people bought the item but none were delivered then there were bound to be a couple of customers who did not know about the dispute process or did not know how to use it. If they did not claim then Paypal would have no option but to pay the seller.

That's how I interpreted it anyway and in no way am I suggesting that the same thing is happening here. Worth the risk if you want a case but rehearse the claim procedure.
It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.

I agree this looks suspicially like a hacked account - some years ago I was "caught" buying Office 2003. Similar MO, especially if the seller doesn't answer questions. There was a lot hacking around at the time, fortunately Paypal refunded me.

Just a quick update: As expected, this did turn out to be a scam - bay removed the listing a few days after I paid, I had no contact from the seller and am just awaiting my refund from ebay.

I never really expected there would be a delivery, but it was a no-lose situation so I gave it a go :)

If they did not claim then Paypal would have no option but to pay the seller.

So Paypal withholds payment from the seller to allow time for the buyer to express dissatisfaction?
