Sounds like a nightmare, we had a scary experience about a month ago
About 2:40am I woke up and heard a noise, I woke Hubby up and we went downstairs and someone was trying to get in our front door with a key, Hubby banged on the door and it was 2 girls no older than about 15/16 who were really drunk saying they lived there and we need to let them in, needless to say we didn't but they wouldn't leave till Hubby threatened to call the police.
I think it was our vendors daughter in her drunken state didn't realise she didn't live there, we didn't change the locks as we'd ordered a new front door but needless to say I can't wait till it arrives in 2 weeks time because if we hadn't had the internal locks on she may have well got in.
It really frightened the life out of me to be honest and I think next (if there ever is) i'd change the locks straight away its frightening to think who else might have keys to your new home.House purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.
Hang in there everyone it is worth it0
