Grievance at work...

All the operations manager said is 'I'm suspending you to be safe' and I asked why, and he said that the team leader said she had seen me opening a box with the knife. Which is false. I don't know what terms I'm actually being suspended for but I would guess it's health and safety

Not alot for us to go on, in all honesty.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
  • Hi, I have put a greivance in against my manager and had my appeal meeting on Monday. They did not manage to come to a decision so have given me some days off on annual leave. My manager is still in the office so I am unsure if it is a good thing that I have been given time off.

I have asked to be moved offices as the relationship is beyond repair. However I now have an uneasy feeling as I don't know what is happening and why I am the only one not in the office.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

Speaking from experience, I would say it's not a bad thing that you have been given leave. It's natural to feel uneasy about not being at work.

Just take this time off to relax and reflect on the situation, as I'd imagine being in the office with your manager can be quite stressful.

It is the investigating manager's job to make sure your grievance is dealt with fairly and impartially.

I hope you are able to get what you want out of this :)

Personally, reading between the lines, I'd say there is a common denominator in all this and sad to say I think it's the OP.

You could be being difficult, over sensitive, awkward and management may be a bit sick of you, it could be your attitude or response to being managed or asked to follow guidelines or instruction.

Despite the rules and regs, if a company wants shut of an employee they could engineer your dismissal, to have 5 - 6 disciplinary matters in 3 years tells me they are being quite tolerant of you and could have dismissed you a long time ago if they were being so minded.

I would have to disagree with you here...the whole point of a disciplinary in in the word, discipline. It is meant to teach the person a lesson, not punish them in an attempt to push them closer to the door, which my employer is currently trying to do.

There is no problem with my work in any way, in fact I meet all my targets and I'm sure if I wasn't, I'd be in the office for that as well.

There is no problem with my attitude, I come in and do my job, well I might add and go home.

I have no idea where this perception of me has come from, I'm not perfect, but I have been constantly treated least favourably over a span of a few years now and I don't feel I can carry on, which is why I'm seeking a compromise agreement of some sorts.

I know it's unrealistic but I feel for the length of time I have worked for this company, I deserve a little bit more respect and dignity on their part.
