Micro SD Card problem

I have an old micro SD card I was hoping to use with my new camera (Samsung PL120). I have tried formatting it on my XP computer, says it is formatted, (tried NTFS and Fat32) but my camera still says there is a problem and refuses to go past that screen unless I turn it off, ie it will have absolutely nothing to do with the card. I have formatted another card in it with no problem.

When I try to format it in my Windows 7 computer it says I do not have permission to perform that operation.

I cannot format it in my camera without getting it into an acceptable state!

Is my card dead or can I resurrect it somehow? Just want to be able to use it in my camera!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Try formatting it under XP as FAT rather than FAT32.

try testdisk I've fixed many cards / memory dongles with it
its also recovers files on them it re-writes boot sector's and partitions
and makes them new again
