Costs complaining to Ombudsman

Currently going through complaint with Halifax in order for me to decide what compensation to ask I need to know what is the costs charged by Ombudsman to Financial institution for dealing with the complaint about them. As if I ask for a slightly lower amount it would be cheaper to pay me a compensation.
Many Thanks

£500 is charged unless complaint is frivolous, in which case they wont charge. The firm can also decide to take action against you (such as suspending service) if the complaint is frivolous and your attempt was to blackmail them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

If I worked for them (or any bank for that matter) and had an inkling that a customer was using the threat of/amount of the FOS fee as a benchmark to determine the level of compensation demanded I would suspend service immediately and let it go to FOS regardless.
But that's just me0 -
They have basically delayed my ISA transfer by an extra 41 day so I want to charge them the amount they earn on this money over this term if it is lent to other customers at the rate of 29.9% which is the rate for a personal loan for an amounts below £2000 they charge as if they pay me less that means they have still benefited by delaying my transfer as whilst it was delayed(which they agree is their mistake) they were making a profit of it so I feel it fair for me to request the amount they have made of my money in 41 day0

You haven't got a hope in hell of getting interest calculated on that basis. You might get a £25 goodwill payment on top of the interest you're owed though.urs sinserly,

Any goodwill payment they give you will probably exceed the interest profit they would have earned from your savings.
In any event, that's spiteful and childish.urs sinserly,

Sorry but if customer makes a mistake and goes to unarranged overdraft they will charge a £5 per day for such a mistake regardless of what does it actually costs them to provide someone with say £10 unarranged overdraft facility. as they would not give sh** why the mistake has happened. So why should I be happy than with £25 as you have mentioned.
Also out of £9300 over 41 day lending it at 29.9% interest they would've made much more profit than £25 you have suggested so you are actually contradicting yourself by saying I will probably get no more than £25 and then you say 'Any goodwill payment they give you will probably exceed the interest profit they would have earned from your savings.'
As they would've earned above £300 by lending it at the rate of 29.9%0 -

In such circumstances FOS is unlikely to charge a fee and the bank may be able to charge the complainant for its time and costs.0 -

If you feel you have a valid compliant against the Halifax, you have to take this matter up with the Halifax first, before the FOS will investigate.
You will need to fully quantify any losses you are claiming. If the Halifax agrees with your claim, they will pay that amount plus possibly a small goodwill gesture depending on the circumstances.
If they don't agree with the claim, they will either make a suitable offer or deny the claim entirely.
Having fully investigated your complaint, it is unlikely that the Halifax will change its offer if you decide to pursue your claim with the FOS. Furthermore, it is unlikely the FOS will uphold your complaint for further restitution unless the FOS consider not all the relevant information was originally considered by the Halifax, or it otherwise considers the Halifax to have not offered appropriate restitution for the original complaint.
Your post suggests you are attempting to make a claim based on opportunism rather than genuine cause for any compliant.0
