Dog had a problem in the back of the car and I parked up quickly on an incline. I didn't put the handbrake on properly and rolled into a parked car, scratching the bumper.
Found the owner and apologised, expecting outrage, claims for a whole new rear end and whiplash for several families. She said not to worry. It's an old car anyway. Thanks for letting me know.
Ther are some nice, reasonable, non-greedy people about.

Yes i'm sorry i was a wee bit too honest then. I'm now in great pain, but not as bad as my six passengers are.

I had something similar before Christmas- I was reversing back in horrible weather to come out a space and knocked the car behind. The owner was in the car, and although we swapped details (it was too dark and rainy to see if there was damage- we couldn't obviously see any), I never heard from him again. I was half expecting to get a phone call about his 'awful whiplash'.0

Happened to OH about 18 months ago, he was turning right out of a junction, car was turning in. OH completely misjudged it and clipped the wheel arch of the other car.
The guy driving was fab, no damage to ours and just a small mark from our tyre on his wheel arch. Nearly died when he looked at it, smiled and said "dont worry lad it will T Cut out" Huge relief and reassuring that there are decent folk still out there.0
