We Buy Any House websites

Hello,
I hope you can help me.
I'm a freelance journalist and I'm researching quick house sale websites such as webuyanyhome.com to see how they operate.
I'm looking to speak to anyone who has used one of these to share their experience.
If you think you can help, please get in touch with a message on here.
Many thanks,
Rachel

Don't think you will find anyone here who has used them, as the usual advice to those requesting recommendations to this type of company is not to touch them with a barge-pole!

This question comes up all the tine from desperate people trying to get shot of their mortgaged homes before they are repossessed.

Not one single poster, to my knowledge has ever sung their praises. Well, not anyone with a posting history on here. Plenty of newbies trying to tout for business, though.

Where's the link to that bunch of shysters on the thread we had on here last year, who conned a £69+VAT "survey"fee plus another £1200 or so for never finding a buyer out of all of the enquirers? Just so the OP can see how they operate. Although I suspect they may already have a fair idea if they're a half-decent journo

Agree with the posts above. I received information on Express Estate Agents and they even mail me every so often advising how many DAYS my house has been on the market (as if I didn't know) and telling me they will sell it within weeks. They must do a trail of Zoopla on a weekly basis.

Did you know they have lots of investors on their books just awaiting properties such as mine? I am sure if you want to sell your property at half the market value they will get a sale. I feel sorry for people who are taken in by them.

Well we sold through Express Estate Agency after adopting their selling method. Property on the market with various conventional agents for a eight month period from March until November with four vewings. Then switched to Express in December, probably the worst month of the year for viewings. Between December and Feb 8 viewings, offers from 3 qualified buyers, one of which exchanged contracts in the last few weeks.

We sold to an investor, at a price considerably higher than their marketing price. Other offers were from suitably qualified buyers, either FTB's with mortgages arranged in principal or otherwise proceedable.

Considerably better than the level of interest received via usual agents. Whether one likes their business method or not, they create interest and do get results.

We switched to Express on the basis we needed to sell and had nothing to lose. It certainly paid off.

  • I have to say its unreal how journalists latch onto something to blow things out of proportion and try and ruin businesses, no wonder the UK is so screwed at the minute.

Feel free to contact us, we was facing repossession a few years ago - and tried everything to save our house. Government was no help because we was not claiming benefits and had a little bit of equity in the house they more or less said... you are on your own. We tried selling at a discounted price but was dealing with so much pressure then a friend told us to do a search on the internet which took us to a company that specialised in repossession. They was great, they listened to us, let us use their lawyers for any questions free of charge, they stopped the repo order they let us stay in the house for an extra 5 weeks, paid all our fees, we took 26% below the value of the house, but we was happy we still got a little bit of money, everything was done at speed and if it was left to the traditional estate agents we'd have been repossessed no doubt about it, plus we would have ended up selling at a low price because they was telling people we was facing repossession to make people think it would be a cheap house and they still couldn't sell our house! infact they got us one silly offer that was %40 lower then the valuation! so the fast sale company worked a treat for us. Just use the right one and make sure they are upfront with everything and its what you really want to do.

Yes, but Express always set the asking price considerably lower than the market value, as determined by an RICS surveyor, don't they....?
