I checked my credit score a recently, via creditexpert, and experian, and equifax, and my score is poor, at 440.

I want to open a bank account, at Santander, Llyds tsb or barclays.
I only want to open a High street bank account (barclays, santander, llyds tsb etc)

I have been at my address for 6 years, am on the electron roll, have a regular income comming in etc, but just the credit score is low. - so I know they take these things into account also..

Is there a chance the 'opening' of the current account will be rejected?

and have you had experience of this? bad credit people, applied for a bank account, and it became rejected due to bad credit?

Note- I only want to open a High street bank account (barclays, santander, llyds tsb etc) - and not any of them bad credit bank accounts offered online.

    No, none of them

My credit funds/ in my credit cards are almost maximum used, and I have been paying of just the minimum payment for some months.

ie, if my credit limit is £4000, i have £3700 used. (for example)

(rather than paying it all off), so have alot of my credit in use.

dont advise me about this though lol,,,,,but the original question please.....

Just apply its only a bank account if someone's willing to put a 4k limit on your credit card I am sure a bank wouldn't turn you down IMO.

I have a credit score of 290 on experian but I have opened an account with co-op in the last 6 months. scores mean nothing its what your actually doing on your accounts. As long as your not applying for an over draft; I wouldn't worry. I am sure you will be fine. :)

I have no idea what my score is (and certainly wont pay a credit reference agency for one as they are meaningless and may as well be randomly generated) however my free noddle report has my rating as being 1/5

In spite of this I hold a full bank account with Lloyds TSB and two with Santander. Hope this helps

My credit rating is trashed due to bankruptcy but I have been able to open a basic account with natwest and I have a debit card online banking ect only down side is no overdraft or chequebook but I am not looking for an overdraft and this is very flexible for me - dont do credit checks so should be fine. just amke sure when you apply they are doind a basic account and not a current or ask for a current and if turned down ask then for basic

hope that makes sense as near the end of night shift lol
