in Credit cards
Hi,
Back in December I applied for the M&S CC and got turned down. I am 99% sure this was because I had just got a mortgage and unfortunately I had around 3 searches done on my file due to mortgage problems.
Now its 6months on and I want to apply again. I have checked 2 of my statutory reports online and all the details are correct and Noddle rate me a 5/5 so would you say I have a good chance of getting the CC?
I have been paying the mortgage on time each month and all other accounts are in the green and I have never had a CCJ or IVA etc.

i doubt M&S are the cheapest, though you have to really ask yourself, do you NEED a credit card?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
If you've never had a credit card before then I would say your chances are slim...but you'll never know until you try!0

I am wanting the CC to pay off my dad and the fact you can get travellers cheques for 1% and their included in the 15 month 0% interest is the reason for going for that card.
And I should have said I have had a cc for more than 6 years.0 -
Noddle rating means nothing, but as long as its over 6 months, why not. It is actually one of cheaper cards available and the 15months interest free is one of best around.
From sounds of things your mortgage problems were most likely the cause of rejection and with these searches gone and mortgage having run ok this should be a positive.
Bear in mind though that the actual rate you get may be higher but as long as you get 15 months IF then rate is immaterial.0 -
If all you say is true I would go for it! if you get declined ask the underwriters to review it.
They generally overturn the decision.0
