How can I return an item with a receipt after 28days

:T Hello can anybody please help. I went into JD Sports today to exchange an item that was a birthday present. It is still in a good condition but sadly past the 28 day return by a week. Have I lost my money or is there anything I can do ?

In short, there's nothing you can do.

A retailer accepting goods back is at their discretion, and they can impose whatever terms they wish.

You've not lost your money, the buyer has if you just bin it and don't use it. If it's really not suitable, what about ebaying it or swapping it with a friend for something ?

You can usually swap it for something for the same price if you don't have the receipt or it is after the return period - you just can't get cash back.

That depends on what is in their terms and conditions. If they have a published returns policy of twenty-eight days, they have to abide by that.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Talking about returns periods I just bought a pair of trainers from Schuh and was amazed with their returns policy. You have a whole YEAR!! to return an pair of shoes, so long as they've not been worn outside.
