    Comodo firewall was the only free alternative a could find that was worth a damn.
    Zonealarm went into bloat overdrive and all the other freeware ones i tried were awful or unsupported..
    I agree with others comments about Windows firewall, take a little time to set it up and you wont know its there..
    Comodo's latest version is good, a wouldn't have touched Comodo a few years back but they seem to have got their act together...

    I'd like a wee program that sits up in the corner of your screen and shows all outbound traffic from you computer to the internet.
    And tells you what program is sending it and what ip address it's going to.
    Now that would be useful !

    Then you could tick the programs you want tos end stuff out and stop the others. Would that not be simpler than all these mysterious firewall programs.
