Is it possible to apply to have the charges that are applied monthly when you are IN your overdraft refunded?
Or is it only the charges made when you go over your overdraft??

The charges that are applied whilst you are in your overdraft are usually defined in the terms and conditions that the bank provide to you and send out every now again and so it is difficult to reclaim.
You do stand a chance of reclaiming charges applied whilst you have been over your overdraft but this can be difficult due to the OFT/Bank court case ruling. You can certainly write a letter of complaint to the bank explaining why you feel they should be refunded and they have to provide you with a full response within 8 weeks. If still unsatisfied you can then refer to the financial ombudsman service.
You stand more of a chance of recovering your charges if you were in financial difficulty at the time of the charges being added and if the bank were aware of this but did nothing to help or if it was a bank error0
