Not all promotors follow their own T@Cs you only have to look at some of the recent photo comps. They say no children under 16 in photos then have loads showing children.

Its just part of comping and what gives people the idea that if such and such a person doesn`t enter then so and so will win.
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.

Hi,like others I have forgotten that i have entered a competition and then received a "you have entered this competition already "note. It was not deliberate.I won a trip to a show(but found out when I received it after the show had finished) I have also been notified of a win that I never received.I just put it down to experience,I dont try to cheat, there are so many competitions that in the time I have I could never enter them all even once usually.
Perhaps the person you talked about just did not realise and was anxious to receive a prize. The companys that wish to raise awareness through this way may be surprised how effective it can be-I have become interested in a charity and will be helping where I can as a result.
Dont be disheartened, good luck for the future:)

I think I must be one of the only people who is reading this post in the spirit I hope it was intended.

EPM has several very valid points which have been raised in the past by other forum members - in fact a lot of them (so far as I can remember) are in Velvet's comping guide.

    Thank you for your reply.

I don't really understand why some people are saying that they don't cheat and aren't rude but are complaining about a post asking people not to be like that.

If it's your job to reply to the gumpy emails etc, why not just get on with it, if it's what you're paid for.

How much do you think someone a start up member of a blog site actually gets paid? The answer is nothing unless it's performs well.

Also as I said in the original post it's competitions that I have been involved in. I mentioned the complaint from the prize winner from a non-profit blog site, which it says clearly on the site and I know the winner was a MSE user.

I was also involved in another competition from a limited company where one of the winners didn't get the top prize she wanted and told us we can go **** ourselves for offering her that 'pathetic joke' prize.

Unfortunately, the rudeness was not an isolated incident.

I'd say I'm sorry you've had to deal with a rude comper but all I can say is there's plenty more who are not like this. And most people who haven't put answers/details in emails or forms have probably just forgotten I know like hulahoop I've forgotten many times to attach things to emails, it's easily done. However, I know like myself unless it is stated as necessary I never add my phone number as I get enough cold callers to last me a lifetime :).

I completely understand people making errors and if someone resubmitted a correct entry after submitting a wrong entry then that's fine. I've even replied to incomplete entries saying required information is missing so you need to resubmit your entry and very few of those then reply with a complete entry.

It's actually a very high percentage of people who miss out required information in email entries from my experience and when I'm most likely to make such a mistake is when I'm trying to do too much.
  • if they dont meet the terms , dont enter them. its not easy running comps but its free promo for the companys so rough with the smooth.

It's a shame there is rudeness involved but it's unfair to even suggest one or two people represent all MSE's or indeed general compers.

You cant make everyone conform to your requirements. People make mistake and some are not as capable or educated as others.

It you're taking on these duties on for love not money, then do it with love. Every job has eliments we dont perhaps agree with or like but we have to accept them and enjoy the good bits.
