Twin centre egypt (with cruise)??

Is a cruise plus a beachy part to the holiday doable in 7 days? like a 4 day cruise and then say 3 days in taba or sharm el sheikh?
Ive looked through threads here but getting confused with all that is on offer! Also, we want to leave early July, so dont have much time to faff about, and I am indecisive at the best of times :rotfl:
So can anyone please advise me on an itinerary and/or travel company to go with? Basically, we'd like to see the pyramids and temples while on the cruise and then end up somewhere we can relax for 2/3 days before flying back. We'll probably have to get a tailor made hol, but can anyone advise on which areas are best?

I suggest you start with this thread:

in which you will discover that you can't visit the Pyramids on a Nile Cruise0 -
In Cairo there are about a billion places including every single hotel that will take you to the pyramids/Nile cruise etc.
As an example the classic Giza Pyramids and Saqqara Memphis will take up most of a day and costs about £15 - £20 for a driver and car.
£20 is the going rate for a days car and driver regardless of where you go.
Pay at the end.0 -
You could take a holiday in Luxor and visit the temples and burial sites there and also do a mini cruise from there on the Nile BUT you would not be able to relax on the beach there because there is no beach. You would have to travel to somewhere like Hurghada for your relaxing beach part. The famous pyramids are in Cairo and that is in a totally different area of Egypt. It is do-able in 7 days but frankly I would not recommend it - it is extremely hot in the summer months both in Luxor and Cairo and you would find it very, very tiring. Hurghada and Sharm are bearable because they do have a sea breeze but there is no temples or things like that in either of these places to be truthful. Maybe you need to rethink either the itinery and/or time of year. It is possible to go to either Sharm or Hurghada for a beach holiday and take trips from there to both Luxor and Cairo either by air or road.0

Hmm yes this is supposed to be a relaxing break, but I dont want to go egypt and not see the sights!
I think flying into cairo and seeing the pyramids, then doing a cruise for the remaining time seems about right. I guess we can always relax poolside!
I did want to do cairo>4 day cruise>taba or el gouni but I think this requires 10-14days to be relaxing and not a mad dash..
Thanks! its proving hard to find 4 day cruises though, most, inc kuoni only do 7 day cruises

Why don't you arrange the mini cruise independently because I know there are 3 and 4 day cruises available from Luxor. Look on the Luxor forum on Tripadvisor and you will see lots of tips and recommendations about cruises, hotels etc. This of course also applies to the other resorts mentioned.0

We did Giza, cruise then El Gouna, but we took 16 days over it!!! And if you are doing a Nile cruise, do NOT expect it to be relaxing, fun and interesting but not relaxing!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

what about doing a red sea cruise
most will fly in and out of sharm then a 7 day cruise which you can go to cairo jordan and luxor0 -
Because it's not the Nile where you can watch Egyptian life go by - and you'll spend half your time stuck in a coach seeing places for an hour or two at a time.what about doing a red sea cruise
most will fly in and out of sharm then a 7 day cruise which you can go to cairo jordan and luxor0
