Decent wireless adapter?

Hi all,
I'm looking for a decent wireless adapter to use with my PC which hasn't got a wireless card. I've got a Belkin at the mo but it seems to be on it's last legs - the signal keeps dropping and it regularly doesn't register, regardless of which USB port I use.
Sooo I'm looking for a new one, but have no idea which to go for. My router is downstairs and PC upstairs. This has always been the case and it's only recently the adapter's started going funny so I know it's not the distance between the 2 that's the problem.
Any recommendations for a decent adapter that doesn't cost the earth would be much appreciated!

Best results are often just to use a wireless adapter by the same company your router is made by...0

Agreed, but I've had good results with USB Wireless adapters from TP-Link and Edimax, or even this tiny one from Solwise! Here are five pages of adapters from Broadband Buyer (other fine retailers are available!).
Check whether your router supports "Wireless-N" and preferably get an adapter which has that support.0 -
Forget Wireless and use a pair of Homeplugs. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
