  • Hi Cheryl thanks for your reply. I no longer feed my pup Lathams as I didn't like the idea it is only sold in Tesco locally to me, and I thought if ever they had a supply problem there was no where else for me to get it. I also found that she quickly went off eating it and she would be quite hungry before she would eat it.

Following advice on here I changed her to Wainwrights and she really likes this food. I feed her both the dry and wet trays which she particularly likes. The meat trays contain a lot higher proportion of meat than tinned meats and you my find it an option to try, its bought at Pets at home.

    Hope this helps.:)

The reason its only sold in Tesco is that Tesco own Lathams, found out when I emailed them for a sample. I use it for my Newfoundland, from pup, and now just over a year, no problems to date, but only 1 Tesco near me supplying it now, and thats a 25 mile round trip, but I do work near it, so travel costs minimal.

  • Hi, We bought our German Shepherd from a breeder who took her dogs to Germany and other countries to show them and she won many awards to a top standard, even to Crufts. She highly recommended Royal Canin German Shepherd and never fed her dogs anything else (apart from the odd carrot). It also has a puppy size. It may be more expensive but her dogs certainly thrived on it and so does ours. WE also have Labradors and they are also fed on natural dry dog food, at the moment they love Green Dog. It doesn't upset their tummies and are easy to clean up after them.:)
