How long have I got before my credit score is in the pan?

Hi guys, I'm currently under the advice of cccs.

They have advised me to cancel my direct debits to my creditors until I sort out my DMP?

They also advised me to set up new bank accounts away from my creditors to start again.

I was wondering, how long have I got from not paying my creditors to getting a new bank account sorted before I default etc and can't get one?

Many thanks :)

Even once you have defaulted, you will probably find it easier to open a basic bank account. You won't get an overdraft, cheque book or full debit card, but if you're in a DMP that may be for the best.

You will get a debit card not sure what Quincy jones is on about when saying full as a debit card is a debit card.

Perhaps referring to a offline or online full auth card.

OP should apply for an account sooner rather than later if I was you with a bank who is not a creditor and not HSBC / First Direct cause they'll close it if they get wind of the DMP.

I have an account with lloyds now.

Will lloyds close the account if they see cccs on the direct debit form?

Doubt it very much. Only ones to be careful of are previous creditors and HSBC group.

I think the Bank of Scotland are part of the Lloyds banking group?
Probably not wise to put any funds in that account as they may have the right to offset? I would maybe try Natwest or Barclays. Both banks tend to have decent success rates in getting a basic bank account. Good luck.
