Asking for a neighbour. They work in a school and for the Jubilee the head threw a party for the kids (primary school) and there was a Jubilee Bingo event organised for the parents and local residents. Outside of school hours the neighbour was discussing these events and commented that the party was a waste of funds since the food for the kids alone cost £800 from a local cafe and most was binned as the kids didn't like it and the bingo was rubbish because because only 12 people turned up. Now the neighbour has been called to see her boss for breaching staff confidentiality outside of school, would they be allowed representation? How can this be breaching staff confidentiality?

I don't know about employment law but yes, I would think your neighbour is doing the school a grave disservice to rubbish their events in such a nasty manner.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Its called `Bringing the company into disrepute'. Its just the same as going on Facebook etc saying it. But - on facebook there would be evidence for all to see.. this is more or less someones word vs someone elses word so your neighbour could claim they did not say that etc. The burden of proof however is on them, and not the school to prove otherwise Im afraid. Plus the fact that exact figures have been mentioned wont help them...0

What's nasty about it, they were expressing their opinion and it's all our business if it's public funds being wasted. Regarding the bingo, if only 12 turned up out of 200 asked then I would assume that yes it was rubbishBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Anyway, can they have someone with them for a disciplinary and does it need to be a union rep?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

At this stage it will be a meeting to ascertain the basic facts. If it then goes to a disciplinary meeting then she would be allowed representation which is usually a union rep or colleague.
Has she been suspended at this point?Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

And then look an idiot when all the witnesses come forward?
Id admit it, but say my comments were out of upset that the event did not raise more money than I had hoped etc..
Still would prob not help though..0 -

A private conversation is just that.
