RSB eligible accounts

Hi,

I followed a link on the basic accounts page to RBS. I applied and it came up saying I was eligible for a number of other accounts including a basic account and the fee paying ones.

Does this mean I passed the credit check and can choose any account? Or is it these are the accounts available?

Thanks

Hi. No as they need to see my passport.

I haven't had much luck and only starting to get myself back on track. So I thought its too good to be true to be offered a variety of accounts.

Would they still decline me once they can confirm my identity?

They could do but if you were rejected they would of said & not offered you current accounts.

I must stress other banks have known to do this when asked to take ID in then they recieve the declined letter but believe its rare but can happen.

    Good luck though!

The application may possibly still be declined by AVU tomorrow at some point or after you have sent your ID.

I would not presume anything until the account is actually up and running.

If you can take you ID into branch with your application ref it will speed up the process.

That's what ime thinking maybe they couldn't fully credit check the OP as if they could of done then why is ID required, IMO 50/50.

Something might have been picked up which has threw the application into the referral queue hence the requirements for ID.

There`s loads of things that could happen a letter might get sent out tomorrow saying the computer says no...

OP just send of what is required then wait and see what happens. :D

Beware: at least one of the fee paying accounts (Select Silver) can be just a basic account with a few extras, but still no credit.

Correct. But if Royalties Gold and Select came up it passed the initial credit check.

Hi, just been to RBS and opened the account, with no problems.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't ask about an overdraft as I don't want one, but may upgrade to the royalty gold as it has worldwide travel insurance. And I do travel a lot.

    Thanks for the advice :)
