  • After a busy week and a half I'm finally getting round to sending my letter off to accept the offer that HFC have sent me but I'm not sure which address to send it to?
Do I send it to the "PO box" address or do I send it to the address in Birmingham?
I'm going to send it recorded delivery and I just want to make sure I get a signature for it.
Thanks in advance for your help :)

Can you start a new thread rather than appending to old threads? It keeps things tidy and makes sure any advice you're getting is aimed at you.

If HFC are saying they don't have the information to hand, you may be able to do a SAR - see the sticky topic about SAR at the top of the forum. It costs £10 and should give you everything that HFC hold on you.

HFC/Beneficial went on a mass shredding exercise from branch to branch as soon as the PPI reclaim issue started as they were well known for having iffy sales tactics with reference to PPI, so it's possible they genuinely don't have anything on you.
    Competition wins:
    2010 - approx £450. 2011 - approx £800. 2012 - approx £300. 2013 - nothing so far!
  • Hi, I've got a PPI to sort about Household bank loans. As it no longer exists, I heard that it went across to HSBC. Was your claim successful please? Any tips you could give me? Thanks

You'll have more luck using a Ouija board.

I googled HFC PPI Claims and literally the first result gives you this website

    http://www.hfcbank.co.uk/html/payment_insurance.html

It makes it clear there that you complain to HSBC at the address below

    Complaints Department
    PO Box 5207
    Coventry
    CV3 9FB

    Or Call:

0345 6023793 (double check the number, it might be out of date)

HFC stopped selling PPI in 2008

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
