Car accident - third party damage - can they force a claim through my insurance?

Accidents, Incidents etc. Even if no claim has/will be made.
Personally i would still make the remark in passing. That they will need to declare this incident when they renew. And it may put their insurance up as it could happen again.
Declare against which insurance? It certainly can't be their car, as it wasn't involved, and house insurances only ask about claims, not third party damage or "incidents". And if it does put up the premium, you do realise they'll claim that against the op as well?0 -

............Last winter, a lady just around the corner from me reversed out of her drive and accidentally hit my car bumper to bumper. It caused the bumper to deflect and consequently the paint is cracked in that area and has left a star shaped scar which is peeling slightly. Now she was totally in the wrong and I would have been perfectly within my rights to claim for a new bumper and the associated paint job - probably £200-£300 worth. Instead, I just laughed about it and let her off - my car's a 7 year old modeo with 140k on the clock - just an old work horse with a fair number of other minor dents and blemishes, so I figure one more really insn't going to make much difference - Ok I was probably a bit soft, but honestly, life's too short for that sort of s**t.

So, would you have been happy if you had a newer car worth as much as the tree in this accident, and someone stuffed the back in, and removed a quarter of the car. Don't think you would have laughed quite as much.0 -
Here is me wondering why someone could not drive through my garden, I could do with a change! :-)0

Hopefully your insurers will deliver shrubs and trees to her.
I'll be astonished if she digs up a tree with one branch damaged to replace with another.
Keep your eye on it if you live locally
, and maybe ask for the salvage.
What variety of tree and shrubs were damaged for the princely cost of £2000? :eek:0 -

I doubt they'll deliver the shrubs and trees to her, and I doubt she'll dig them up. I would expect them to pay a landscape gardener to do it.0 -
Aaah, but you know what I mean Mikey.;), she'll probably go cash in lieu.
This woman is buying her tickets to Lanzarote as we type!
Would still like to know the species of tree/shrubs though.0 -
I know a few people that would replace their trees.0

Mine asks about incidents. Err i dont even know who my insurers are (whoops). More than or Esure?
Will they send the OP a bill for the next how many years their premium may increase?
Maybe its not just them but a general increase because of the number of claims in that postcode?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
