hmmm What do you think?

Dont know if this is the place to ask for advice but if its not then im sorry.

Quick question really, We have a fire guard on the home fire, have 2 children. But for some reason and i cant imagine how one of them managed to get a wax crayon stuck in it. Tried the fire once and it started smoking out of the top of it, burnt wax crayon smell

Do you think the housing association will charge us for a new fire? I have been told (friend of a friend) it could cost about £500 oo dear...

Thanks in advance.

erm, quite possibly.. :o And if not for a new one, then certainly for the repair.

I can't imagine its done huge amounts of damage and got into the actual mechanism of the fire, could you turn the fire on and burn the wax off?! (maybe when the kids weren't in the room to prevent them choking on the smoke!!)

Alternatively, how long is it till your next gas check? You could just leave it and then feign ignorance when the contractor does the service, which the h.association pays for anyway....

If a kid can get the crayon in, someone who knows what they're doing can get it out! Not a new fire you need, just someone with tools, I think
