How Much To Sell A Car For Scrap
From September this year I intend to give up my Car because I can no longer afford to keep and run it. I'm not sure how much to sell it for. I have looked on Autotrader etc and have seen people selling my make of Car from £350 onwards. I'm wondering if I would get more if I put it up as scrap or how much to sell it for. The Car would suit someone who has just passed their driving test and wants a cheap Car for a year or two to use for driving experience or someone who wants it for spares or parts. It's a Vauxhall Cavalier Hatchback 1992. What do you think is the best route to go down to get the best price for it? I'm not selling it to Webuyanycar.com because they qouted me just £150  I think it's worth more then that.

There are a lot of factors which determine price.
Mileage
MOT
Tax
Condition
Etc etc
I sold a 1994 M plate cavalier ls last year with 78000 miles and 11 months MOT for £2500 -
Upto £300 is the going rate0

mmmmmmmm
little tip here for you kimberley but keep it to yourself
if this car is in very good condition its wanted by younguns because they can insure for less than normal cars if they put a mileage for the year limit on it
i know someone who gave a bag of sand for one but saved loads on his insurance
just a thought
ps its worth £140 on the bridge of weighs at the moment because it will weigh over a metric tonne
worth even more if it was an old golf0 -
Check with your local car recycler what they will give you, as a driveup.
A long/new MOT will help
Give yourself a bit of time to sell it if the tax/insurance is running out.0
