Mobile Phone Hoax Be Warned!

Sorry, not really sure where to post this, hopefully somewhere where it will be seen by many.
I received a text on my mobile (Orange Network) this morning, from a distant friend in my mobile.
It reads, 'ANGELS exist but sometimes, since they don't all have wings, we call them FRIENDS. Pass this on2 ur true friends. Somethin good will happen 2u at 11.00pm. This is not a joke. Someone will call u or will speak 2u bout something u've been waitin' to hear. Pls don't break this prayer, send it to at least 5 angels XoX.

I immediately thought it was a chain letter thing. After looking up on the net on phone hoaxes, there is some viruses going about phones, orange & motorola, which will screw up your phone.

Luckily I never sent the message, as have not got 5 friends, (mine are all virtual)
I have not phoned the girl that sent it as she would have been nieve to send it.

I hope this gets put somewhere where it will be seen by many, as I was not aware of phone viruses. I am just a very cautious person.

Not too sure where you got the information from but I find it highly unlikely that it will be a 'virus'

Me too, I always just delete them but I'm not sure why my friends keep sending them. I don't want to offend anyone so I don't say anything.
  • Thank God its not just me who doesnt send them on!! If I had 10p for every chain-text or chain-email I receive...well....I'd have a lot of 10p's!!! (and I'm so tight I'd still be looking on this site for the latest bargains!)...Anyway...I have NEVER forwarded any chain texts or emails and I'm still here to tell the tale. My life is fine, nothing drastic has happened to me, I'm not worried that if I dont send them on my life will fall apart and the sky will drop on my head!.

Oooh- I feel so much better for a rant and rave!!
Any fool can pay full price!!
  • I hate those ones that get emailed.

"Bill Gates is paying (insert charity name here) for £100 for every recipient of this email send it on or you will die slowly" - yes of course he is!

I'd question my taste in friends if they sent naff things like that. On the rare ocassions that I get stuff like that by email, I go back to the sender and tell them I'm not interested in receiving stuff like that so please take me off the distribution list.
I am not stubborn. I am merely correct.

Thanks for all that replied. I guess this one is just a HOAX which makes the phone companies lots of money.
Weather the virus on phones is still about I don't know which wipes the sim e.t.c, but it's an actual phone call that sends it not text. As I read here.

At least I'm aware of text's & calls now, thanks to my stupid friend sending stupid messages.
