People can, and do, pass the medicals without outside help filling in the form.

Why should people not use public transport if they can do so, normally? Again, why should people not make an effort with their appearance, if they do so normally?

Is this not creating an artificial scenario, or even making false suggestions/representation?

Many people who are likely to pass the medical will a) need help with the form, b) not be able to use public transport easily and c) will not normally dress up.

My post was designed to encourage people NOT to make a SPECIAL effort. It is clear from my reading online that "officialdom" sends a lot of people into a spin and they tend to try hard to represent themselves as better than they are. I am not in any way suggesting that people misrepresent themselves, simply that it is not helpful to your cause to make a special effort.

Also, the form is not nearly as straightforward as you appear to believe. I think most people would benefit from expert advice, or at the very least an impartial eye being cast over it before submission.

I don't usually post on MSE any more and responses like yours are the reason why. I was just trying to pass on what had happened to us, and the conclusions I have drawn from it. I hope it helps someone.

Went for my appeal on friday.....The appeal was adjourned today because the tribunal noted that the medical Examination was carried out by a Physiotherapist. There is no other medical evidence on file.Recent case law suggests that such a report in a mental health case is of no probative value. The Tribunal would like to see evidence from mr ????? Own GP and any Specialists that he has been referred to. ATOS its floored
