More Than: Charge £10 to change address!?

I have recently moved house so phoned More Than to change the overnight address and was told that there is a £10 charge to change the address!!! My questions are...

1. Is this justifiable and fair?

2. Does anybody have a phone number or address for a complaints team at more than?
Thanks!

    1. Only if stated in your policy/schedule or any other t's and c's (I believe it is stated by the way).

    2. You could challenge it but you don't have very good grounds if they meet '1' above.

Charges have crept in as a means to keep premiums low - it does cost the insurer admin time and money to change details and send new docs out, this used to be absorbed into the original premium. As everybody (almost) buys on price then the insurers come up with ways of reducing their cost base to remain competitive on price.

you could at least be grateful that your new overnight location is not in a dodgy area, as it could cost more to insure it there, over and above the admin fee!!

Charges arent new at all.... the difference is they have to tell you that they are charges now rather than just saying that it is additional premium. For years people were told that it must be because the system thinks your postcode is more risky etc when in reality some or all of the charge was simply admin fees.

Be thanful it is only £10 - some insurers charge over £65
