Cover up/hide Huge Old TV

I have a 30something inch old style tv in my living room next to my sofa which I cannot afford to have removed (we don't have a car and it requires two strong men just to move it a few feet.) We aren't currently using it but can't move it sat ll from where it is. Does anyone have any ideas of a way to cover or hide it that's both inexpensive (preferably free!) and looks ok, as we may be in this situation for several months.

Why not try to freecycle it with 'buyer collects' (I know they are not buying it if its on freecycle, but people still use that statment).

an old analogue "tube" TV and it will go within the hour? Somehow I don't think so.

Do your council offer free collection of large electrical items?

No the council charge around £40 and I've tried to get rid of it on free cycle as others have mentioned but no luck. I live in a rural area so I guess it's not as easy as in as city or similar.

I think it would go quickly on Freecycle but why not try to sell it, especially as you are short of money?

I sold a very large 36 inch TV weighing 75 lbs on Ebay last year.

I got a decent price for it. Nearly £100 if I remember correctly.

List it on Ebay on a 7 day auction at 99p for collection only. That won't cost you anything to list. If it sells at 99p then at least you will have got rid of it and it may well sell for more than 99p.

There is still a demand for large CRT TVs.

    Good luck.

Edit: I got distracted while writing this and hadn't read your post above. I stll think Ebay is worth a try.

Also, even if I do end up rid of it, I really want it covered up in the mean time as it makes my living room look awful having a random TV facing the arm rest on my sofa.
