Is BT landline better than others for credit score?

Options
We are moving house and planning on switching at the same time from BT landline and Be broadband to landline+broadband with Be only, which will save us around £60 per year.

At the moment, landline is in my name and broadband in my wife's.
I was wondering if losing the BT landline will in any way influence our ability to be accepted for credit cards, loans and mortgages.
Particularly if we cannot transfer with the same number, as I understand the lenght of time one had a landline might play a role (?).
And also, if my personal credit score and ability to obtain credit products will be influenced by the fact that the landline is not in my name anymore.

Thanks :)
Aldo

A credit card provider does not care who provide you with your phone line, what they care about is the length of time you've lived at your address, if you are on electoral roll at current address, salary, time with employer, how you manage your accounts....etc.....

As stephane said, a lender wants to see credit card with a £3000 limit not up to max maybe using £1000 of that and clearing it each month, lots of payments, all on time. - this will help your credit score

Changing from BT or not changing from BT won't mean jack.

    Thanks fro your replies.
I guess we'll go for the cheapest solution then :)
However, I am unsure whether not providing a phone line at all would be that irrelevant, or that clearing the balance in full each month is a plus in the eyes of some providers. But in this case we'll have a phoneline anyway , so it shouldn't be a problem.

The phone line is just something that (some) lenders look at as a way of judging stability along with legth of time at a property. I guess if you have a landline you're less likely to run off after racking up a load of debt :)

As others have said, phone provider is absolutely irrelevant, go to whoever you want.

I have a landline, but never use it for credit applications, because I don't know the bloody number! Therefore, as far as my creditors are concerned, I don't have a LL.

We have it for broadband only, we don't even have a handset. Your overall credit file is more important as a whole picture than just whether or not you have a landline :)

The lender will not even know your with BT, your credit file doesn't mention who you have credit with, only that you have credit of £x, limit of £y, and your payment history.

Will not having a landline telephone hurt my credit score?

Plus when you are credit scored the lender does not see the company names anyway.

For ID/address check purposes it's good if you and your wife each get at least one monthly paper bill with your name and address on it. These things can be a nightmare when they insist on documentation you haven't got.
