If you do any baking you can substitute applesauce for fat/oil. I'm on iPhone at the mo so I can't help but if you google applesauce in baking there are lots of tips. And it's healthier!!0

On top of porridge is lovely.
With a dash of brandy on top on pancakes!
Saut! onions, add chopped cabbage and apple sauce (or chopped apples with the onions)... Lovely side dish.
Put in dish, top with sponge mix, bake : upside down apple cake.

A couple of years ago my daughter & I made cinnamon scented Christmas tree decorations using a dough made from applesauce & glue - seriously! - they were easy to make and made the house smell lovely. Lots of recipes found with a quick google0
