Hello,
I read somewhere, probably on here, that the Visa Debit card gave the same financial protection as a Visa credit card, is this still the case?
Am thinking of booking flights/holiday but to avoid the credit card charges can use my visa debit card.

Visa Debit and Visa Credit, like their comparable Mastercards, both have a 'chargebeck' facility in case of problems, but this isn't enshrined in Law.
Credit cards have section 75 protection, which has the backing of the Consumer Credit Act...and is what I think you're referring to?
However, there has to be a debtor-creditor-supplier (D-C-S) relationship for section 75 to apply, and there often isn't with holiday bookings...especially tailor made, ie separate flights and hotel.0 -
What I heard before was that the section 75 protection applied also to Visa debit cards but not to Mastercard one's, is this still the case?0

Section 75 doesn't apply to payments made by Visa Debit cards, only Credit cards.0
